When you think back to the time when you were my age, what is the first image that comes to mind when you think of your home back then? Do you also remember sounds from the past?
What made you particularly happy when you were my age? What did you worry about most as a child? And is there anything you regret - something you did or didn't do when you were young?
When your grandparents were young, the world was a very different place. Sometimes they even grew up in a different country. For this production, children become detectives and go in search of different - perhaps hidden - family stories and things that remind them of these stories. The children work on small scenes, games or pictures with these found objects in workshops lasting several days.
Together with two dancers, a dance theater piece is created from all the stories and ideas that can take place anywhere - in schools, gyms, clubs and theaters.

Biography

Taiwanese-born director and choreographer Fang Yun Lo has been working with artists from various disciplines under the Polymer DMT label since 2011. Polymer DMT is based in Essen and Dresden/ Germany as well as in Taichung/ Taiwan. Since 2018, Fang Yun Lo and Polymer DMT have been working on a cycle of stage productions that deal with identity(ies), home and migration, including "Home Away From Home" (2022) and "Kim" (2023).
