The garden city Hellerau near Dresden is an outstanding example of reform architecture. The two-hour special tour focuses on the architects Richard Riemerschmid and Hermann Muthesius. Riemerschmid developed the urban planning concept as a harmonious interplay of architecture, nature and social life. Muthesius brought in influences from the English garden city movement and favoured high-quality, functional architecture. Together, they created a visionary housing estate that is still considered a model for modern, people-orientated building today.
